Acedia

Acedia is a 2D pixel-art metroidvania about people who lost their purpose, and slowly turned Hollow.

You wake at the bottom of a cave with two swords and a lantern-bearing stranger who answers no questions. The bosses of this world each carry a shard of something you once had. Collect them, and the road opens: through a castle of those who wait for their end, a temple of oaths, the Beneath, a mountain pass in a storm, a burning city and the machine under it, down to the Core.

But who gave you this errand, and what happens when you deliver it?

• Eight regions, each with its own boss, mini bosses and a new ability: double jump, dash, parry, wall cling, glide, a burning blade, a chain.
• A quiet, melancholic story told in short lines and inner thoughts. Two endings.
• Hollows you can wake on the way, and who walk their own road after.

• Hand-tuned pixel art, a low-poly world map, synthesized music.
